Free LinkedIn Post Date Extractor

LinkedIn shows a post's age as “2w” or “3mo”. Paste the post's link, URN or ID to see the exact date and time it was published, in your local time zone, UTC and ISO 8601. The date is read from the post ID, in your browser.

The date is read from the post ID in your browser. Nothing is sent to LinkedIn or to us.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Copy the post link

On LinkedIn, open the post's … menu and choose Copy link to post. A URL from the address bar, a post URN or the 19-digit post ID works too.

  2. 2

    Paste it into the extractor

Click Get post date. The tool finds the post ID in the link and reads the timestamp stored inside it.

  3. 3

    Copy the format you need

Copy the date in your local time, in UTC, as ISO 8601 for spreadsheets and code, or as a Unix timestamp.

Examples

  • Post link

    https://www.linkedin.com/posts/yourname_product-launch-activity-7123456789012345678-AbCd

  • Feed or embed URL

    https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7123456789012345678/

  • URN or ID on its own

    urn:li:share:6844785523593134080 or 7123456789012345678

Limitations

  • LinkedIn doesn't document how its post IDs are built. The decoded time matches the creation times in LinkedIn's own API examples to within a second, but it isn't an official LinkedIn date.
  • It shows when the post was created. Editing a post keeps its ID, so later edits don't change the date.
  • A repost has its own ID, so you get the date of the repost, not of the original post.
  • Short lnkd.in links, article (/pulse/) URLs and profile or Page links don't contain a post ID.

LinkedIn Post Date Extractor FAQ

How can I see the exact date of a LinkedIn post?

Copy the post's link and paste it into this extractor. Every LinkedIn post ID is a 19-digit number whose first 41 bits are a timestamp in milliseconds, so the tool can turn the ID into a date and time without contacting LinkedIn.

Which time zone is the date shown in?

The main date uses your device's time zone. The tool also shows UTC, and the ISO 8601 and Unix timestamp values are always in UTC, so you can compare dates from different time zones.

Does it work for company Page posts and deleted posts?

Yes. The date comes from the post ID, not from the post itself, so it works for posts from profiles and Pages, and even if the post has since been deleted or made private. It can't tell you whether the post is still visible.

Is the link I paste sent anywhere?

No. The date is calculated in your browser. The link isn't sent to LinkedIn or to our servers.
