LinkedInEmbed widgetsBy the LinkedInEmbed team · Updated

What happens on my website if I edit or delete a LinkedIn post?

Short answer

With a LinkedInEmbed widget, edits and deletions on LinkedIn show on your site after the next refresh: within 96 hours on Free, 24 hours on Pro and 30 minutes on Essentials. Deleted posts, and posts no longer public, drop out of the widget. With LinkedIn's own embed, LinkedIn says the embed is deleted when the author deletes the post.

Widget vs native embed

How long changes take

Refreshes happen when the widget is viewed after your plan's interval has passed, so a change can show sooner on a busy page than on one with few visitors.

PlanPriceWidgetsLinkedIn sourcesRefreshes from LinkedIn
Free$011Every 96 hours
Pro$12.99/month or $132.50/year32Every 24 hours
Essentials$29.99/month or $305.90/year55Every 30 minutes

Hand-picked posts

If you use Selected posts mode on Pro or Essentials, your picked posts are re-fetched on the same schedule. Edits show up after the next refresh, and a picked post you delete or make private disappears from the widget. Picked posts stay even after newer posts push them out of your latest posts, and you can change or reorder your picks at any time. See embed specific LinkedIn posts.

Tips

  • Removed a post you featured with a native embed? Remove the embed code too, or your page may show a blank box.
  • Need a deleted post gone quickly? Faster refresh intervals are on Pro (24 hours) and Essentials (30 minutes).
  • Design changes in the dashboard aren't tied to refreshes; they go live as soon as you save.
  • Deleted a post and shared it again, for example to make it public? The new version is a new post: it appears after the next refresh, with its own reactions and comments.
  • Edited a post you embedded natively and still see the old version? LinkedIn controls native embeds. Reload your page in a private window, and if needed copy fresh embed code from the post.
