How often do LinkedIn widgets update?
Short answer
LinkedInEmbed widgets refresh automatically on a schedule set by your plan: every 96 hours on Free, every 24 hours on Pro and every 30 minutes on Essentials. A refresh runs when someone views the widget after that interval has passed. Design changes you save in the dashboard show on your site as soon as you save them.
How a refresh works
Because refreshes are triggered by views, a widget on a page nobody visits doesn't refresh until someone does. Your plan's interval is the minimum gap between refreshes, not a fixed time of day. You don't need to do anything, and you never have to touch the embed code again.
- 1
Your widget shows saved data
Visitors see the LinkedIn content from the last refresh, served quickly from a cache.
- 2
The interval passes
Once your plan's refresh interval has passed since the last update, the data is due for a refresh.
- 3
The next view triggers it
When someone loads the widget after that, the latest posts and profile data are fetched in the background, and the widget shows the new content.
Refresh interval by plan
| Plan | Price | Widgets | LinkedIn sources | Refreshes from LinkedIn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 1 | Every 96 hours |
| Pro | $12.99/month or $132.50/year | 3 | 2 | Every 24 hours |
| Essentials | $29.99/month or $305.90/year | 5 | 5 | Every 30 minutes |
What a refresh updates
- New posts appear in a live posts feed, newest first.
- Edits to post text, images and engagement counts.
- Deleted posts, and posts no longer public, disappear.
- Profile and company details: headline, photo, role, followers, about text, skills and experience.
- Recommendations, certifications, projects and open jobs.
Design changes are separate: theme, colors, layout and what you show or hide go live as soon as you save, on every page where the widget is embedded.
Which interval do you need?
If you post on LinkedIn once or twice a week, a 96-hour or 24-hour refresh keeps your site reasonably current. If you post several times a day, or use the feed for time-sensitive news or job openings, Essentials' 30-minute refresh keeps the gap small. Compare plans on the pricing page.
Engagement and follower counts change constantly on LinkedIn, so the numbers in a widget reflect the last refresh rather than the exact figure right now. That's normal, and it's the same on every plan; only the length of the gap differs.
