Your post preview appears here as you type.

An approximation of the LinkedIn feed, not an exact rendering. Where “…see more” appears varies by device and screen size.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Write or paste your post

Type in the editor or paste a draft. Text copied from ChatGPT or Claude keeps its Markdown, which you can clean up with one click.

  2. 2

    Format the text

Select words and click Bold or Italic. Select lines and click Bullets or Numbered to turn them into a list.

  3. 3

    Check the preview

Switch between desktop and mobile. The highlighted cut shows roughly where LinkedIn hides the rest behind “…see more”.

  4. 4

    Copy and post

Click Copy post and paste it into LinkedIn. Your draft stays in this browser until you clear it.

Examples

  • Hook first

Put the most important sentence in the first two lines, so it shows before “…see more”.

  • Scannable lists

Turn a paragraph of tips into a numbered list, one idea per line.

  • Clean AI drafts

Paste a draft with **bold** and # headings from an AI assistant and convert the Markdown into LinkedIn-ready text.

Limitations

  • LinkedIn posts don't support real rich text. Bold and italic use Unicode “mathematical” letters that look styled.
  • Screen readers may read styled letters oddly or skip them, and LinkedIn search may not match them. Use them for a few key words, not whole paragraphs.
  • Styled letters only exist for A–Z, a–z and (for bold) 0–9. Other characters and emoji stay as they are.
  • The preview is an approximation of LinkedIn's layout, not an exact rendering. Where “…see more” appears depends on the device and screen size.
  • The character count is an estimate. Each styled letter is stored as two characters, so it may count double toward LinkedIn's limit.

LinkedIn Post Formatter FAQ

How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn's post editor has no bold button. Type your post here, select the words, click Bold, then copy the post into LinkedIn. The bold look comes from Unicode characters, so it shows on every device.

What is the LinkedIn post character limit?

A LinkedIn post can be up to 3,000 characters. The formatter counts as you type and warns you as you approach the limit. Styled bold and italic letters may count as two characters each.

Where does LinkedIn cut off a post with “see more”?

LinkedIn shows the first few lines of a post (about three on desktop) and hides the rest behind “…see more”. Line breaks use up those lines faster, so put your hook first.

Is bold text bad for accessibility?

It can be. Screen readers may announce each styled letter separately or skip it. Use styled text sparingly, for a few words, and never for important information on its own.

Is my draft saved?

Your draft is saved only in this browser, so you can come back to it. It isn't sent to our servers. Click Clear to remove it.
