How to add a LinkedIn feed to Ghost

Ghost's HTML card lets you paste custom code into any post or page. Add an HTML card, paste the LinkedIn widget code and publish or update.

Step-by-step: add a LinkedIn widget to Ghost

  1. 1

    Create your LinkedIn widget

Sign up for free, click New widget, choose Person or Company, and paste your LinkedIn profile or company page URL.

  2. 2

Customize and copy the embed code

Pick a widget (posts feed, profile card, company page, jobs, recommendations, certifications or projects), match your brand, then open the Integration tab and copy the code.

  3. 3

    Add an HTML card

Open the post or page in the Ghost editor. On a new line, click the + button (or type /) and choose HTML from the card menu.

  4. 4

    Paste the code and publish

Paste the embed code into the HTML card, click outside the card, then Publish or Update. Open the live post to check the widget.

Your embed code looks like this

Copy the exact code, with your widget ID, from the Integration tab in the LinkedInEmbed dashboard.

<div class="linkedembed-widget" data-widget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>
<script src="https://www.linkedinembed.com/embed.js" async></script>

Tips for Ghost

  • Save the card as a snippet: select it, click the snippet icon in the toolbar and give it a name. Then insert it on any post or page by typing / followed by the snippet's name.
  • Use the eye icon in the HTML card toolbar to choose who sees the widget: public visitors, free members or paid members.
  • Adding several widgets to one post? Paste each one's full code into its own HTML card. The script only renders each widget once, even if it appears more than once on the page.
  • A profile card at the end of your posts tells readers who wrote them, and a posts feed on an About page shows what you're sharing on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn on Ghost: FAQ

Can I show the LinkedIn widget only to members?

Yes. The HTML card's visibility setting (the eye icon in the card toolbar) lets you show it to public visitors, free members or paid members.

How do I reuse the same widget across many Ghost posts?

Save the HTML card as a snippet, then insert it into other posts and pages from the card menu or by typing / and the snippet's name. Snippets are available to any staff user.

Which LinkedIn widget will you add to Ghost?

Every widget uses the same embed code, so the steps above work for all of them.
