Embedding LinkedIn on a websiteBy the LinkedInEmbed team · Updated
What can you embed from LinkedIn without a third-party tool?
Short answer
Single public posts, using “Embed this post” on desktop: text posts, articles, images, videos, live videos and document posts. LinkedIn also documents a Follow Company plugin and a Share plugin, and offers a profile badge until December 12, 2026. There's no native embed for a feed of latest posts, a company page card, recommendations or certifications.
LinkedIn's built-in options
| Option | What it shows | Updates by itself? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| “Embed this post” | One public post | No new posts; LinkedIn deletes the embed if the author deletes the post | Desktop only. Step-by-step guide |
| Public profile badge | A “View profile” button for your profile | Not applicable | LinkedIn says it won't be available after December 12, 2026 |
| Follow Company plugin | A Follow button for a company page | Not applicable | A JavaScript snippet from LinkedIn's developer docs |
| Share plugin | A button for visitors to share your page on LinkedIn | Not applicable | Listed in LinkedIn's plugin docs |
| [in] logo link | LinkedIn's logo linking to your profile, page or group | Not applicable | Allowed by LinkedIn's brand guidelines |
Which posts “Embed this post” covers
Each embed shows one post as LinkedIn displays it, in LinkedIn's design; you can't change its colors or fonts. The iframe doesn't resize itself, so set a height that shows the whole post on both desktop and mobile. Featuring several posts on one page means one embed code, and one separate frame from linkedin.com, per post.
- Embeddable: text posts, first-party or third-party articles, images, videos, live videos and document posts.
- Not embeddable: multi-photo posts and reposts with commentary.
- Only posts the author shared as public (visibility set to Anyone).
- Format choices: “Embed with less text” or “Embed full post”, plus “Embed video only” for videos.
- LinkedIn says it doesn't notify the author when you embed their post.
What LinkedIn doesn't offer natively
There's no official way to embed a feed that shows your latest posts automatically, a company page card, a list of open jobs, your recommendations, certifications or projects, or a group. Natively, profile content such as your experience, skills or recommendations is only reachable through a link to your public profile or, until December 12, 2026, the badge. That gap is what third-party LinkedIn widgets fill: you paste a public profile or company page URL and get a block that refreshes on a schedule. For a single post, LinkedIn's native embed is free and enough. The free LinkedIn embed code generator turns a post link into embed code with a size you choose.
