What is a LinkedIn widget?

Short answer

A LinkedIn widget is an embeddable block that shows LinkedIn content on your website, such as your latest posts, a profile card or a company page card, and keeps it updated. You create it from a public LinkedIn URL, style it, and paste one snippet of code into your site. LinkedIn's own embed covers one post at a time.

The kinds of LinkedIn widget

LinkedInEmbed, for example, offers seven widget types. Personal profiles support five of them and company pages three, with the posts feed available for both.

How a LinkedIn widget works

  1. 1

    Paste a public URL

A profile (linkedin.com/in/…) or company page (linkedin.com/company/…). No LinkedIn login, password or API key.

  2. 2

    Choose and style

Pick the widget type, then set theme, colors, font, layout and what to show, with a live preview.

  3. 3

    Embed once

Copy a small snippet into your site's HTML or embed block. It works on WordPress, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify, Framer and any site that accepts HTML.

  4. 4

    It stays current

The widget refreshes from LinkedIn on a schedule: every 96 hours on Free, 24 hours on Pro and 30 minutes on Essentials.
