Embedding LinkedIn on a websiteBy the LinkedInEmbed team · Updated

Can you embed a LinkedIn document or carousel post?

Short answer

Yes for document posts, which is how many LinkedIn “carousels” are made: a PDF or slide file uploaded to a post. LinkedIn's help center lists document posts as embeddable with “Embed this post” when they're shared with Anyone. Multi-photo posts are different, and LinkedIn says it doesn't offer embedding for them.

Document post or multi-photo post?

If you want a carousel you can embed, upload it as a document: on desktop, click Start a post, then More and the document icon, choose the file, add a title and post it with visibility set to Anyone.

How to embed a document post

  1. 1

    Open the post on desktop

Embedding isn't available in the mobile app.

  2. 2

    Embed this post

Click the More (…) icon, choose “Embed this post”, pick “Embed with less text” or “Embed full post” and click Copy code.

  3. 3

    Give it room

Paste the code into an HTML block and make the iframe tall enough for the document viewer, then check it on a phone.

Documents in a LinkedInEmbed feed

In a LinkedIn feed widget, document and carousel posts appear as a document card that opens the post on LinkedIn, alongside your other public posts. To highlight one specific deck, pick it in Selected posts mode on a paid plan: see embed specific LinkedIn posts.

If the deck is yours, consider also hosting the PDF on your own site so visitors can read it without leaving.

Tips for carousels you plan to embed

  • Design for smaller frames: an embed on your site is often narrower than the LinkedIn feed, so use large text and few words per page.
  • Keep it focused: LinkedIn accepts up to 300 pages, but a short deck is easier to read inside an embed.
  • Give the document a clear title. LinkedIn asks for one when you upload, and it helps readers know what they're opening.
  • Share it with Anyone. You can't change visibility afterwards, and only public posts can be embedded or shown in widgets.
  • Remember that people who can see the post can download the document as a PDF, so don't upload anything you wouldn't hand out.
