Embedding LinkedIn on a websiteBy the LinkedInEmbed team · Updated

Can you embed a LinkedIn video on your website?

Short answer

Yes. LinkedIn lets you embed public video posts, including live videos, with “Embed this post” on desktop. For videos there's an extra “Embed video only” option that leaves out the post text. The post must be shared with Anyone, and if the author deletes it, LinkedIn deletes the embed too.

How to embed a LinkedIn video

  1. 1

Open the video post on desktop

Embedding isn't available in the mobile app.

  2. 2

    Choose “Embed this post”

Click the More (…) icon in the upper-right corner of the post.

  3. 3

    Pick a format

Choose “Embed video only” for just the player, or “Embed with less text” or “Embed full post” to include the post.

  4. 4

    Copy and paste

Click Copy code and paste it into an HTML or embed block. Adjust the height so the player and any text fit.

Things to know

  • Only public posts can be embedded, and you can't change a post's visibility after sharing it.
  • Each embed is one video. Several videos mean several embed codes.
  • Live videos are embeddable too, according to LinkedIn's help center, and LinkedIn doesn't notify the author when you embed their post.
  • The embed doesn't resize itself, so check it on mobile.
  • If the post is deleted, the embed is deleted too, which can leave an empty space. See why a LinkedIn embed shows a blank box.

Alternatives

If the video is yours, you also have the original file, so you can host it on your site or a video platform for full control over the player. If you post videos on LinkedIn regularly, the LinkedIn feed widget shows your latest public posts, and videos play inline in the widget. To feature a few specific posts, see embed specific LinkedIn posts.

Think about where people will watch. On a landing page, “Embed video only” keeps attention on the video and your own headline. On a news or press page, the full post adds context and shows the conversation on LinkedIn. Either way, write a sentence or two of your own above the embed, because text inside an iframe doesn't count as your page's content for search engines. If the video belongs to someone else, ask before featuring it: see do you need permission?
