LinkedIn Showcase Page

Also called: Showcase Page, organization brand

Definition

A LinkedIn Showcase Page is a Page attached to a parent LinkedIn Page that represents one brand, business unit or initiative. It has its own name, posts and followers, so people can follow that part of an organization on its own.

How it relates to the parent Page

  • Each Showcase Page belongs to exactly one parent Page.
  • Followers and follower counts are separate. Followers of the parent can't be moved over, so a new Showcase Page starts from zero.
  • In LinkedIn search, a Showcase Page only shows up for members who already follow it, so it depends on promotion from the parent Page and elsewhere.
  • In LinkedIn's API documentation, Showcase Pages are referred to as organization brands.

What a Showcase Page can't do

LinkedIn's comparison of Page features marks three things as unavailable on Showcase Pages: members can't list it as their employer on their profile, job postings can't be associated with it, and it can't have a Career Page. Hiring and employee-related activity stays with the parent.

When one is worth creating

LinkedIn positions Showcase Pages for building a long-term relationship with a specific audience. That fits a product line with different buyers from the rest of the company, a foundation or community program, or a research group that publishes for specialists. It fits poorly for a one-off campaign or a short event, because the followers you gather are hard to reuse later.

Ask whether you'll have enough to post there regularly. A Showcase Page with occasional updates splits your audience without giving either Page much to see.

Showcase Pages on a website

A Showcase Page has its own URL, and LinkedInEmbed accepts it like any company page, which suits a product or brand site that should show only that brand's posts. Because jobs can't be attached to a Showcase Page, build a jobs widget from the parent Page instead.

LinkedIn Page
A LinkedIn Page is an organization's presence on LinkedIn, such as a company, school or brand. Members follow a Page rather than connect with it, and the Page's admins publish posts, manage job listings and view analytics for the organization.
LinkedIn follower
A LinkedIn follower is someone who has chosen to see your public posts and articles in their feed. Following is one-way: unlike a connection, it needs no acceptance and doesn't make either of you part of the other's network.
