LinkedIn Page
Also called: LinkedIn company page, company page, organization page
Definition
A LinkedIn Page is an organization's presence on LinkedIn, such as a company, school or brand. Members follow a Page rather than connect with it, and the Page's admins publish posts, manage job listings and view analytics for the organization.
Page vs personal profile
You need a personal profile to create a Page, and LinkedIn doesn't let you convert a profile into a Page, so a business that has been run from a personal account needs a new Page.
| Personal profile | LinkedIn Page | |
|---|---|---|
| Represents | One person | An organization |
| Relationship | Connect or follow | Follow only |
| Run by | The member | One or more admins |
| Visitor insight | Who's viewed my profile | Who's visited my Page |
Types of LinkedIn Page
- Company Page: free, the main Page for an organization.
- Showcase Page: a sub-page for a brand, business unit or initiative. See Showcase Page.
- Career Page: a paid add-on, sold as a license, for culture content and open roles.
- Product Page and Service Page: for specific products or services the organization offers.
- University Page: for universities and high schools.
- Listing Page: created by LinkedIn; an eligible employee can claim it.
Who manages a Page
LinkedIn's help center lists admin roles with different reach. A super admin has every permission, including adding admins, editing Page details and posting jobs. A content admin creates and manages posts and events. An analyst can only see the Analytics tab. Give people the narrowest role that covers their work.
Only a super admin can add or remove admins, so make sure at least two trusted people hold that role. If the person who created the Page leaves and was the only super admin, regaining control gets much harder.
Your Page on your website
The Page's public address usually looks like linkedin.com/company/name; finding and changing that URL has its own page. From that address LinkedInEmbed can build a company page card, a posts feed or a jobs list, with no admin access needed.

- LinkedIn Showcase Page
- A LinkedIn Showcase Page is a Page attached to a parent LinkedIn Page that represents one brand, business unit or initiative. It has its own name, posts and followers, so people can follow that part of an organization on its own.
- LinkedIn follower
- A LinkedIn follower is someone who has chosen to see your public posts and articles in their feed. Following is one-way: unlike a connection, it needs no acceptance and doesn't make either of you part of the other's network.
- LinkedIn engagement rate
- Engagement rate is the share of a post's impressions that led to an interaction. In LinkedIn Page analytics it's clicks, reactions, comments and shares divided by impressions, so 30 interactions on 1,000 impressions is a 3% engagement rate.
- Employer branding
- Employer branding is how an organization presents itself as a place to work: its culture, values, people and the experience of working there. It influences whether candidates notice the company, apply for roles and accept offers.
