Can I hide reposts in my LinkedIn feed widget?
Short answer
Yes. In a LinkedInEmbed posts widget, turn off “Include reposts” and the feed shows only posts the profile or company page published itself. Turn it on to also show posts you reposted. The setting works the same for personal profiles and company pages, and the change goes live on your site as soon as you save.
How to hide reposts
- 1
Open your posts widget
In the dashboard, open the widget you want to change.
- 2
Find the posts settings
In the settings panel, find “Include reposts”.
- 3
Turn it off and save
The live preview updates straight away. Save, and every page where the widget is embedded shows the change.
With reposts included, a live feed shows your posts and reposts together, newest first.
Hide or include?
If most of your recent activity is reposts, hiding them can leave fewer posts to show. In that case, post more original content, or use Selected posts on a paid plan to pick the exact posts to feature. See embed specific LinkedIn posts.
For company pages, reposts are often posts from employees, partners or customers that the page chose to share, and they can make a company feed feel more human. For personal profiles, reposts are often industry news or colleagues' wins, which may or may not fit the page your widget sits on. A quick test: read your last ten LinkedIn posts and ask whether each would make sense on that page.
Each widget has its own setting, so a homepage feed can hide reposts while a news page widget from the same source includes them. The setting only changes what the widget displays; nothing changes on LinkedIn.
| Include reposts when… | Hide reposts when… |
|---|---|
| Your company page reposts employee or partner posts you want to showcase | The feed should show only your own voice |
| You mostly share other people's work with commentary | Reposts are off-topic for the page the widget sits on |
| You want the feed to look as active as your LinkedIn page | You want a tidy portfolio of original posts |
Reposts and LinkedIn's native embed
LinkedIn's own “Embed this post” doesn't support reposts with commentary, so if you want to feature a repost natively, embed the original post instead. See why “Embed this post” is missing.
Other feed settings you can adjust in the same panel include the number of posts, cards per row, text length and whether to show media, dates and engagement. See how many posts can a widget show?
